Die genannte Mehrleistung für das ausgewählte Modell ergibt sich auch aus dem optional beiliegenden Teilegutachten. Dieses Teilegutachten wurde durch ein vom Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) akkreditiertes Prüfinstitut erstellt.
Bei der angegebenen Mehrleistung in PS und Nm handelt es sich um Zielwerte. D.h. Abweichungen nach oben und nach unten sind möglich. Diese können beispielsweise durch die Serientoleranz des jeweiligen Fahrzeugs (nach Richtlinie 80/1269/EWG darf die Leistung eines Neufahrzeugs um +/- 5% von den Leistungsangaben des Herstellers abweichen), die Qualität des verwendeten Kraftstoffs oder auch den Wartungs- und Alterszustand des Fahrzeugs verursacht werden.
Bei dem gewählten Modell ist ein Teilegutachten für die Abnahme und Eintragung optional gegen Aufpreis erhältlich. Der Einbau eines Zusatzsteuergerätes stellt eine bauliche Veränderung dar und muss, sofern ein Fahrzeug auf der Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO) unterliegenden Strecken bewegt wird, durch eine amtlich anerkannte Prüfeinrichtung i.S.d. §19 StVZO (z.B. TÜV, DEKRA oder KÜS) abgenommen und entsprechend §22 StVZO bestätigt werden, d.h. die Leistungssteigerung muss in die Fahrzeugpapiere eingetragen werden.
Auch ohne Erwerb des optionalen Teilegutachtens ist eine Eintragung des Zusatzsteuergerätes und der damit einhergehenden Leistungssteigerung möglich. Dies setzt jedoch eine kostpflichtige Einzelabnahme bei einer anerkannten Prüfeinrichtung voraus.
